Mini Medical School returns

The series of six interactive evening lectures designed to bring the world of medical science to life will take place in October and November in the David Shaw Lecture Theatre in the medical school.

Mini Medical School aims to provide an opportunity for people in the North East to learn about and engage with the medical research and clinical activities of the University in an accessible environment.

This will be the fifth year the event has taken place but the first time it has moved onto the University campus, having previously been held at the Centre for Life.

Whether you are considering pursuing a career in Medicine, Biomedical Sciences, Dentistry or Psychology or just interested in science then this series of lectures is for you.

The event will take place over six consecutive Thursday evenings from 6pm – 8pm, with the opportunity to attend an optional Saturday Practical Session. This year speakers will cover topics of General Practice, Accident & Emergency, Psychology, Paediatrics and Transplantation with optional practical sessions on the Saturday 3 November which will cover Medicine, Biomedical Sciences and Dentistry.

For more details, a list of all the speakers and information about how to apply for tickets, see the University website.
