Talking Point on Employment: Family friendly policies and flexible working

NU Women event for Newcastle University staff

Date/Time: Wednesday, 14th December 2016 12:00 - 14:00

Venue: Medium Exhibition Space, Great North Museum

**INTERNAL ONLY**

The focus of this event is employment issues at the university, in particular around family friendly policies and flexible working.

From 12:00 - 13:00 there will be an opportunity to hear the experiences of some colleagues who work part-time or have flexible working practices, and to discuss common issues and challenges. Participants will be encouraged to identify questions about any issues that arise from their discussions.

From 1:00 - 2:00 pm we will be joined by Jan Haliburton of the SAgE HR team, and Sharon Langridge, a local employment lawyer and (currently) senior lecturer at Northumbria Law School (and UCU rep). Jan will give an update on the University’s family friendly policies, and then both Sharon and Jan will take questions from the floor.

This event is open to all staff, female and male colleagues and lunch will be provided.  Please register using the online form.

Please contact Shona Conway on email: s.conway3@newcastle.ac.uk if you have any queries.
