Helen Berry is a Professor of British History at Newcastle University and is also currently Dean of Postgraduate Studies. In this talk, she will reflect on her long experience as a public speaker and debater, and the challenges still facing women who participate in the public sphere. Helen will create an open forum for discussing the barriers to women ‘finding their voice’ in public, and will offer some practical tools for improving confidence and effective communication.
