Are you a parent working or studying at Newcastle University? Would you benefit from an active parents’ network? If so, we would like to hear from you!
Date/Time: Tuesday 21st November 2017, 12:30 - 14:00
Venue: The Boiler House
In response to demand and following on from the work done by the cross-Faculty Parenting and Childcare Working Group, the University is looking to re-launch the Parents’ Network for staff and students. As a first step, a scoping workshop will be taking place on Tuesday 21st November, 12.30-14.00 in the Boiler House. The event will be hosted by Professor Candy Rowe, the Chair of the University’s Parenting and Childcare Working Group. Lunch will be provided on arrival, after which Professor Rowe will give a short presentation on the findings of the cross-Faculty Parenting and Childcare Working Group. This will be followed by roundtable discussions where staff and students can let us know how they think a parents’ network might run, what form it would take and what type of activities and events the network should provide. If you are unable to attend the whole event, lunch and networking will take place 12.30-13.00 and the roundtable discussions will take place 13.00-14.00.
