You can opt to pay your accommodation charges in full, either as an advance payment or by the due date on the invoice. You can also pay your Accommodation Application Fee by one of the methods below.
Advance payments must be made either before you move in or during the first week of your contract. If your booking is for the full academic year you may be entitled to a 2% discount on the total charge. Please be aware that you will not be sent an invoice should you decide to make payment in advance.
Students who are only here for one term/one semester must pay by this method.
All charges must be paid by the due date or you will be subject to a late fee of £25.
Credit/debit card payments can be made online or at the Cash Office (in person) or by telephoning Accommodation Finance Team on 0191 208 1971.
Western Union Business Solutions provides a free service that allows you to pay your accommodation charges in your local currency. This helps to eliminate problems caused by fluctuating exchange rates and expensive or unforeseen bank charges.
Using this service ensures that:
Western Union Business Solutions guarantees you an exchange rate for 72 hours to give you time to make the payment online, by telephone or at your local bank. You will be sent an email confirmation as soon as your payment is received.

Western Union Business Solutions have partnered with China UnionPay to offer Newcastle University students the opportunity to make payment using their UnionPay card and account details.
When selecting your country choose China UnionPay. You will then be redirected to the China UnionPay pages to make the payment.
Please ensure you quote your student number and accommodation as the reference. You should also note that it can take several days for the money to move from one account to another so leave plenty of time when making a payment.
Cheques must be made payable to 'Newcastle University'. Payment can be made in person or by post to the Cash Office, Level 2, Newcastle University, King's Gate, Newcastle upon Tyne NE1 7RU. When making a payment by cheque, your student number and accommodation must be written on the reverse of the cheque to enable us to identify the correct account. The University does not accept post-dated cheques.
Please note that we will not issue receipts for cheques sent to the University either by post or pre-printed envelope unless specifically requested.
Cash payments should be taken in person to the Cash Office, Level 2, King's Gate. This office is open Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm with the exception of Wednesday morning when it will open at 10am. Cash must not be sent through the post.
