Henderson Hall

Henderson Hall bedroom

Set in extensive grounds, Henderson Hall is next to the University’s sports ground and tennis courts.  Offering a welcoming and supportive environment, there is a large supermarket nearby and local amenities.

For those in catered rooms, breakfast and evening meals are served Monday to Friday during term-time.  For breakfast, you will be issued with a voucher to redeem at the Bistro, a catering outlet on campus.  Your evening meal will be served in the dining room in Old Hall. Vegetarian options are available, however we are unable to cater for every dietary need and in particular we are unable to offer Kosher, Vegan or Halal diets. Small snack kitchens are available for when meals are not provided and include a fridge, microwave, kettle and toaster but you must provide your own crockery/cutlery. While the blocks are mixed gender, you share the corridor, bathroom and kitchen facilities with students of the same gender. You will be responsible for cleaning your study-bedroom and vacuum cleaners are provided

Self catered rooms are either en suite in small clusters or with a washbasin and located off a central corridor or staircase, with approximately 18 rooms (maximum) to a floor and you will share the bathrooms and kitchen/dining facilities with students of the same gender, but the block will be mixed. You will have to cook and clean for yourself. Kitchens contain full sized cookers, refrigerators and freezers, microwaves, kettles and toasters and each resident has a cupboard. Vacuum cleaners are also provided.

There is a room which can be used for music practice and another which has a large-screen Freeview TV and games facilities. Vending machines provide a 24-hour service for confectionery, snacks and drinks. There is also a cluster of 18 PCs, linked to the Internet via the University’s Information Systems and Services. Just three miles from the main campus, a frequent local bus service runs from close to the site to the city centre and University and a free courtesy bus provided by the accommodation operates a limited morning service on weekdays during term-time only.

Social events include:

  • film nights,
  • quizzes,
  • pool leagues'

A site manager is responsible for the services and facilities as well as welfare and discipline. We take the safety of our students very seriously and Estates Security Officers patrol our accommodation to ensure your peace of mind.
