Set in extensive grounds, Henderson Hall is next to the University’s sports ground and tennis courts. Offering a welcoming and supportive environment, there is a large supermarket nearby and local amenities.
Rooms are either en suite in small clusters or with a washbasin and located off a central corridor, with approximately 18 rooms to a floor and you will share the bathrooms and kitchen/dining facilities with students of the same gender, but the block will be mixed. Offering only self-catering rooms, you will have to cook and clean for yourself. Kitchens contain full sized cookers, refrigerators and freezers, microwaves, kettles and toasters and each resident has a cupboard. Vacuum cleaners are also provided.
A whole host of on-site activities take place at Henderson Hall. There is a room which can be used for music practice, games facilities, plus regular social events. The Christmas party is usually a big event and a large-screen TV in the bar area allows sporting events to be viewed. Vending machines provide a 24-hour service for confectionery, snacks and drinks. There is also a cluster of 18 PCs, linked to the Internet via the University’s Information Systems and Services. Although three miles from the main campus, a frequent bus service runs from the site to the city centre and University.
A site manager is responsible for the services and facilities as well as welfare and discipline. We take the safety of our students very seriously and Estates Security Officers patrol our accommodation to ensure your peace of mind.
