Application Process

All students should apply for University accommodation using our Online Accommodation Application.

Applications for the 2013-14 academic year are now being accepted.

Deferred entry in September 2014 - you will be able to apply around February/March 2014.

Online Application

You must complete all stages of the application process. Your responses will determine which accommodation you will be allocated. You are asked to list two different types of accommodation and to rank your named preferences, but you should be aware that some residences are very popular and often oversubscribed.

Please note, these are preferences only and you should not regard them as a guarantee of that particular site/room. We will try to meet your requests; however, it is not always possible to do so. We will attempt to house you in accommodation with similar facilities to those you have selected, based on the availability of rooms on the day of allocation. To maximise your chances of allocation to a preferred residence, you are advised to be flexible in your selection, for example, to think about a different location.

If you are a postgraduate student you will be expected to pay an application fee of £500 at the time of completing the form and you will be directed to the university’s secure payment site. Please note: until your application fee is paid, your application is incomplete and will not be processed. The application fee will then be used as a future payment towards your accommodation charges after your arrival.

You may leave your application at any point during the process but it will remain incomplete until you "submit" it in full. Please remember to complete your application by the stated guarantee date of 30 June 2013. You will know when you have completed your application as you will receive a confirmation e-mail from us.

If you still encounter difficulties, please contact us by sending a web enquiry form giving as much detail about the problem you are experiencing and we will investigate the matter for you.

If you do not want University accommodation or assistance with finding external accommodation, you do not need to complete the Application Form. If your circumstances change at a later date please contact us.
