This site offers 90 en-suite rooms in flats of three of four bedrooms. Each flat has a communal lounge/kitchen where you can relax at the end of a hard day.
There are also 20 studios for couples or single students.
Building work will be ongoing throughout the academic year on a site adjacent to Magnet Court which may cause some disturbance.
Access and safety
This accommodation is spread over six floors. There is a lift and an entry-phone system. Our Security Service Team will look after you in your new home 24/7 and our Emergency Control Centre is manned 24/7 to help with any issues.
Magnet Court is in the centre of Newcastle, just 10 minutes walk from the University campus, and even closer to the thriving city centre. There is even a small supermarket in the building next door.

St James Metro station is just a short walk away.
There are Metro trains every five minutes during the day.
Magnet Court is in the heart of the city centre.

Calls to this number will cost 10 pence a minute from a landline and considerably more from a mobile.
From Newcastle Central Station you can take the Metro directly to Jesmond station (1 stop).
Taxis are also available from the Central Station.
Newcastle International Airport is about seven miles northwest of Newcastle University.
A taxi from the Airport will take about 15 minutes, costing approximately £15.
You can also travel by Metro (rapid transport system) to St James station (25 minutes) and follow directions as above.

Magnet Court is one of our Managed Partnership residences, owned by Unite Students. The length and terms of contract differ to that of the University.
The contract is a fixed term period of either 42 weeks (23 September 2017 to 14 July 2018) or 50 weeks (19 September 2017 to 4 September 2018) covering the academic year.
Rents are charged per week, so if your contract differs to the standard dates above (ie earlier arrival), you will incur additional accommodation charges.
All utility bills are included, WiFi is free and they also provide Personal Possessions Insurance via Endsleigh Insurance.

You will be required to pay the first rent instalment before your arrival at University and must also pay a deposit of £250 at the time of acceptance.
Postgraduate students’ the £500 application fee which you have paid to the University will be refunded after your arrival into the accommodation.
