Jeremy Phillipson is Assistant Director of the UK Research Councils’ £25 million Rural Economy and Land Use Programme (Relu), an interdisciplinary research programme spanning the social and natural sciences (funded by ESRC, BBSRC, NERC, Defra and the Scottish Government). His own research has focused on the development needs of rural and fishing economies and businesses. He has expertise on knowledge transfer processes and participatory methods of knowledge exchange with non-scientific stakeholders.
Jeremy is a member of the DECC/Defra Social Science Expert Panel, Strategic Challenge Fellow of the Living With Environmental Change Partnership, a member of the European Commission’s FARNET advisory group (that advises on the future development of fishing communities), and a member of Defra’s Higher Level Expert Panel set up to advise its Rural Economy Growth Review.
