Farm Manager

Background

Graduated from Newcastle in 1991 and entered the Farmcare's Farm Management Trainee Scheme. During the training period I worked at Goole Estate running a night shift vining pea operation, before transferring to Stoughton Leicestershire to project manage the implementation of ISO 9001 quality assurance scheme at a Farm Park & Conference Centre and a cereal seed production plant. I was promoted to Assisted Farm Manager of Perthshire Farms - a 1200ha arable unit growing cereals, oilseeds, seed potatoes, soft fruit and field scale brassica vegetables. From here I was promoted to Estate Manager of 1600ha Coldham Estate in the Cambridgeshire Fens growing cereals, potatoes and vegetables and managing a portfolio of over 35 dwellings, before transferring to Castle Howard Esatate a 2000 ha contract farm unit operating over 3 businesses in North Yorkshire. In 2001 I moved to work for the National Trust managing Wimpole Home Farm. In 2007 I took over as farm manager at Cockle Park Farm.
