The module develops an overview of the technologies used in the production of arable crops to meet specific market outlets in the UK. The student will acquire knowledge and an understanding of current crop production systems, the end market requirements for arable products and the quality standards of these diverse markets.
Building on the foundation of British Agriculture ACE1014 module to develop on overview of the technologies used in the production of arable crops to meet specific market outlets in the UK.
(1) Overview of UK crop production systems for the major arable commodities
(2) Low input and organic production systems
(3) Characterisation of the main arable products, grain, oilseeds, pulses, cash root crops, field vegetables
(4) Quality requirements for specific market outlets.
(5) Influence of crop management on product quality
That students acquire knowledge and an understanding of current crop production systems, the end market requirements for arable products and the quality standards of these diverse markets.

Lectures develop knowledge about the major arable crops grown in the UK and their management as specificed in the objectives.
