James is responsible for the 1834 Fund for the Medical School and has championed public fundraising for research groups and reunion group giving. He is also responsible for the University's legacy giving strategy and manages DARO's Research and Information Officer.
A History alumnus from the University of York, he has over 15 years experience of HE advancement working at both York and Leeds universities, the later at which he established their first prospect research function.
James is the founder of the University's Mosaic Network and is currently the Chair of the University's Diversity Consultative Group.
