Did you graduate in Metallurgy in 1962, '63 or '64? Celebrate 50 years with your old classmates at a special reunion in Newcastle in September 2013. 

A reunion of those who were students or staff in the Metallurgy Department in Newcastle in the academic year 1961/62 is being organised in Newcastle in September 2013.  This is the third reunion of the self-styled Geordie Blacksmiths.  The first took place in Canada (four couples attended) and the second took place in Ocean City, Maryland in 2011 (attendance increased to seven couples).

The 1961/62 academic year implies those who graduated in 1962, 1963 or 1964 together with those doing higher degrees in that year.  We have used the 1961/62 photograph of the Metallurgical Society as our start point, but there may well be some who were not on that photograph.

The reunion will include wives and partners and will be from the afternoon of Friday 27 September to the morning of Monday 30 September. Accommodation has been arranged at preferential rates at the Copthorne Hotel on the Quayside in Newcastle. There will be a programme of events for the reunion includig a guided tour of the University Campus, lunch in the Student's Union and a Reunion Dinner at the Copthorne Hotel.
