A reunion for Norway based graduates was hosted by Dr Tor Svensen (BSc Naval Architecture and Shipbuilding 1978) Chief Operating Officer of Det Norske Veritas Maritime. Alumni gathered for early evening drinks held in the wonderful surroundings of DNV’s Oslo head office. Over 5 decades of graduates were represented.
Alumni were able to meet old friends, make new acquaintances and later a presentation was given by Professor Trevor Page, one of the University’s Pro Vice-Chancellor. Graduates were updated on the achievements of the University and developments within the City. Happy memories were clearly jogged by one or two of the photographs included. Also representing the University were Mrs Andrea Page, wife of Professor Page, and Mary Haworth, DARO Development Manager.
The event, as well as an opportunity for Norwegian graduates to gather, was used as a platform to launch the Norwegian Branch of the Alumni Association. Plans are being made for activities during 2007 and we hope to be able to offer a fulfilling schedule of events in the coming year. This is being made possible through the generous support of our volunteers in Norway.
We would like to thank Tor and DNV once again for providing both a wonderful venue and their work in making this happy occasion possible.
