"Chemical Engineering at Newcastle University appealed to me for a number of reasons. The University has a wide range of facilities, excellent design suites, and strong links to industry.
I was awarded the Hodcroft Goodland Scholarship, which has helped me a great deal, enabling me to buy books for my course. I can use these books when writing lab reports, revising for exams and doing assignments. The scholarship also enabled me to focus on my studies without worrying about finances.
My hope after graduation is to go into the energy sector, possibly focusing on renewable energy. This is an area of great interest to me, and I believe that renewable energy will play a pivotal role in the future of energy.
I would like to take a year out from my studies after my third year at to gain some experience in industry and insight into life as an engineer."
