E-mail Forwarding Service

Update your EFS details, or register for the service

Administer your account through NUGrad.

We are pleased to expand our FREE e-mail Forwarding Service (EFS) which will make keeping in contact with friends, colleagues and classmates easier than ever before!

Following a recent trial period, the service is now open to all graduates.

  • When registering, you will be offered a unique alumni e-mail address (name@alumni[xxxx].newcastle.ac.uk – where [xxxx] is your year of graduation), which will remain yours to keep and distribute to your contacts. A permanent Newcastle e-mail address can also be helpful when completing CVs or application forms.
  • Your alumni e-mail address is a forwarding address - there is no e-mail account or inbox attached to this address.
  • The service takes an overnight update to save the changes to your settings. After this, any new message sent to your alumni e-mail address will be automatically forwarded and received by you in the inbox you have selected.

You can change your external e-mail address whenever you want without having to worry about notifying all your contacts of the new address. You simply need to register the change with the E-mail Forwarding Service using NUGrad, so that messages sent to your alumni e-mail address continue to be forwarded to the correct destination.

This service is free to use, and all details can be accessed via NUGrad.

Note to current students

The E-mail Forwarding Service operates independently of your student e-mail account. Your student e-mail account will expire after graduation (see ISS Knowledge Base article ), so we would advise you to retrieve any messages that you wish to keep as soon as possible. You will need to manually forward these messages: the e-mail forwarding service is not designed to do this automatically.
