ACG member profiles: Jeannette Strachan, Academic Registrar
Jeannette Strachan was appointed Academic Registrar at Newcastle University in 2010 and this role involves overseeing key student services as well as finding ways to improve the quality of the student experience.
She joined the Royal Air Force as an administrative officer after graduating from Hull University. On leaving the service, she studied for MBA from the Cass Business School and started work in the higher education sector. She held a variety of roles at City University in London culminating in the position of Head of Academic Services and from there moved to UCL where she became Director of Student Financial Support and Welfare.
Prior to her current position, she was Secretary and Academic Registrar at St George’s, University of London.
