Newcastle University Students’ Union is looking to appoint at least one external Trustee from the University's graduate community on to its Board in March 2017.
The Board has ultimate responsibility for the affairs of the Students’ Union as it is a fully registered charity and a Company Limited by Guarantee.
The Students' Union is recognised as one of the leading Unions in the UK and provides a wide range of services and activities to its membership of over 25,000 students studying at Newcastle University. The Trustees play a key role in shaping the future strategic direction of the organisation and meets six times over the academic year. Key responsibilities of the Trustees include ensuring the Union operates within the legal framework and charity law; approving its strategic plan; monitoring the progress of the Union against key objectives and taking responsibility for prudent financial management.
NUSU is looking for Trustees with good general business management skills and particular expertise or significant appropriate experience in the marketing or digital communications fields.
