Graduation isn’t the end of your connection with Newcastle, it’s just the end of the beginning.
Just as your degree prepares you for the next step in your career, the Alumni Association is here to help you meet the right people, make the canniest choices, and use your lifelong link with the University to your best possible advantage.
Here at the Alumni Association we’re in touch with 106,405 Newcastle graduates across the world, in almost every country and every level of industry.
We have active alumni groups – known as branches – in many big countries and cities, so if you’re moving somewhere new, we can put you in touch with fellow graduates to get you started or you may like to set one up yourself. We also have branches for societies, like the Boat Club, Durham and Newcastle Medical Graduates Association, International Development Society; and Schools, from NUMAB - the Marine alumni branch. Take a look at the branch page on our website for more details.
Our LinkedIn group has 9,206 members and it’s growing every day, with advice, career opportunities and a forum for sharing ideas; as well as subgroups for Medics, Agrics, US alumni and many more. The site helps you make invaluable connections with peers, clients, and people you want to work for, helping to get your face known in whichever industry you’re planning to conquer.
We also organise many interesting and engaging alumni events, locally, nationally and internationally each year. Reuniting old friends, networking with new friends whilst introducing professional development opportunities and insightful speakers.
Keep an eye on the alumni Facebook page (6,981 members) for details of upcoming events.
Your membership of the Alumni Association gives you access to a range of facilities on campus too.
The University’s award-winning Careers Service also offers a range of free services to help you find your ideal job, or set up your own business.
And don’t forget to drop us a note once in a while to let us know what you’re up to, even if it’s just on our Facebook wall. We publish Arches magazine every year, and AlumNews every month, so whether you’re starting a new job, running a marathon, getting hitched or moving to the South Pole, tell us about it and we’ll spread the word.
Finally, if you are looking to purchase any University memorabilia please visit the online shop.
We look forward to hearing from you!
