Reunite with old friends for Convocation Weekend 2013

photograph

Do you recognise the graduate in the circle, or is it you? Our annual alumni reunion takes place on 14–15 June 2013, and we're celebrating some special anniversaries – including the BA Spanish class of 1983 (pictured right).

This photo was kindly provided by Christine Smith née Lovell (BA Spanish & Latin American Studies 1983) – you can download a larger version here. A number of Spanish 1983 graduates have already booked their place for Convocation Weekend,  but we'd love to welcome back the whole group. We're keen to get back in touch with Angela Neesham, Carlos Pitto, Anne-Marie Fletcher, Marie Colquhoun, Jane Trimmel, Richard Hurcum, Jill Kinmond, Catherine Martin, Neil Mortimer, Sharon Humphreys and Geraldine Cawley – as well as Nick Stringer, who studied German. Can you help? Please contact Maria at maria.szpitun@ncl.ac.uk

The Spanish theme at CW13 continues with our confirmed Convocation Lecturer – eminent Hispanic historian, Professor Paul Preston.

Agric Rag parade, 1993

The Agrics of 1993 evidently made an impression on Rag Week, as this photo from the 11 March 1993 edition of The Courier shows. Are you in this picture or are you in touch with someone who is? Or did you take part in the parade? We'd love to hear from you.

Football second XI, 1983Here's the second XI of the Newcastle University football squad from 1983 – again from The Courier – and we're keen to get back in touch with John Calvert-Toulmin (BA Politics 1983), circled left, and Nick Harknett (BA Geography 1983), circled right. We've already heard back from some 1983 Politics and Geography graduates who are planning to celebrate their 30th anniversary back on campus.

Many more names of graduates with whom we've lost contact are on the 'friends' page of the Convocation Weekend 2013 website. Please do help us get back in touch with them. And if you'd like to join us for the weekend, we'd love to welcome you back, regardless of the year you graduated. Find out more on our CW13 pages.
