GURU awarded £10,000 to support research in China
GURU has been successful in its bid to the University's Strategic Development Fund with its proposal 'The Changing Face of Urban China'. The bid centres on two areas of work that are also critical features of contemporary Chinese society: the ageing of the population and the impact on housing and neighbourhood; and the rise of an aspirational middle class who are developing new (arguably unsustainable) patterns of consumption.
The award will enable GURU to develop external links and a Memorandum of Understanding with Wuhan University, and will result in research outputs in this area of study.
