Professor Simin Davoudi has been invited to a strategic workshop in Brussels this October on Sustainable Transformations of Society in the Face of Climate Change. The workshop will be organised by the Joint Programming Initiative “Connecting Climate Knowledge for Europe” (JPI Climate, www.jpi-climate.eu). Joint programming is a new process whereby Member States coordinate their national research funding programmes in a more strategic fashion and aims to remedy the current situation where national programmes are often implemented in an isolated and fragmented way. Professor Davoudi has been selected as one of the leading European experts in this field of research. At the workshop, experts will discuss which topics from the JPI’s Strategic Research Agenda (SRA) are most relevant to tackle and where we stand as to the challenges implied. By attending this workshop Professor Davoudi will be involved in setting the future strategic research agenda on climate change for this major European initiative.
