The Other Side of Parma is a short publication presenting the results of students’ urban design and architecture study. Guided by the expertise of lecturers Tim Townshend, Armelle Tardiveau, Daniel Mallo, and Georgia Giannopoulou, students were asked to examine the social demographics of the Italian city of Parma relating to the built environment. They were specifically asked to focus their attentions on the struggling Oltretorrente area, or the other side of Parma. In response to what the students uncovered in their investigations, in which structured interviews with local residents played a major role, they proposed uniquely transient interventions.
