Building Simulation and Optimization 2016

The third IBPSA conference is hosted by Newcastle University and seeks to highlight the advancements in simulation tools, optimization techniques and building information modelling at building and micro-urban scale.

Date/Time: 12th-14th September 2016

Venue: Great North Museum

The built environment’s impact on climate and natural resources underpins an increasing demand for Building and Urban Performance Simulation. Data integration and optimization of outputs from these simulation tools provides an opportunity to expand the discourse on ‘energy performance gaps’ and ‘built environment’s energy in use’ beyond regulatory compliance to a wider discourse on how these predictions can underpin design decision making, human well-being and sustainability as an integrated whole.

This conference seeks to highlight the advancements in simulation tools, optimization techniques and building information modelling at building and micro-urban scale.

BSO16 CONFERENCE THEMES:

  • Progress in simulation tools and optimization methods
  • Application of environmental and sustainability modelling to case studies
  • New directions in building environmental modelling including BIM and visualization methods
  • Progress in modelling micro-urban environments
