Architecture students develop sound installation for arts festival

In a joint project with Fine Art, architecture students from the School developed the 'Kones' project; a sound installation situated on the site of the ThyssenKrup Steelworks in Duisburg, Germany.

It allows users of a public route through the industrial site both to listen to, and replicate the ‘booming’ sounds of the steelworks.

The project was part of German arts festival EmscherKunst 2013 and involved the same architecture students who designed and built the Stargazing Pavilion at Stonehaugh (shortlisted for Architects Journal Small Projects Award 2015).
