Architecture students win Dark Skies over Allenheads design competition

Three architecture students have won a student competition to design and develop a building to house a community observatory at Allenheads, Northumberland.

Becky Wise, Katie Fisher and Noor Jan-Mohamed responded to a brief developed by the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty Partnership and won for their proposal which was developed through engagement with the Allenheads community and inspired by the surrounding landscape.  The materials for their build can be sourced locally and constructed using local skilled labourers and volunteers.

The students worked with Tim Bailey at Xsite Architecture and the design is currently at planning stage.

Congratulations to Becky, Katie and Noor!
