Professor Sharr at the People's History Museum
Professor Adam Sharr spoke at an event at the People's History Museum in Manchester on 4th July. The one day conference marked the 50th anniversary of Harold Wilson's famous 'white heat' of technology speech, with speakers including Gerald Kaufman MP and John Spellar MP.
Adam is talking about the architect Leslie Martin's plan to demolish and rebuild London's Whitehall which was presented to Wilson's administration in 1965. It previews his forthcoming book titled Demolishing Whitehall, co-written with Stephen Thornton of Cardiff University, to be published in September.
