Simone Ferracina, Research Assistant working on the Horizon 2020 Future Emerging Technologies award for the Living Architecture (LIAR) project, provides an insight into the newly installed ‘Meier Bridge’ on the Tanaro River (Alessandria, Italy). Project managing the installation for Richard Meier & Partners, Ferracina talks to Architectural Record about the new bridge designed by the award winning architect. The bridge will restore a much needed connection to the Cittadella of Alessandria, currently under consideration for status as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, with the hope that it increases support for preserving the historic site which in turn could revive the local economy.
