A selection of the School's recent past events.

  • Justice and the City 'GURU TEN' Urban Symposium. This two-day symposium celebrated GURU’s first ten years, and explored the future directions of urban research. In addition to Newcastle colleagues, the list of speakers included Professor Don Mitchell (Syracuse University), Professor Jean Hillier (Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology), and Professor Matthew Gandy (University College London).   • Turbulence: A symposium on matter, movement and environment held 23 June 2011
  • From Beijing to London: A Conference on Contemporary Chinese Architecture
    From 12th-28th April 2012 a major exhibition of the work of key contemporary Chinese architects was shown in London. On Sunday 15th April, the School of Architecture, Planning and Landscape at Newcastle University hosted a one-day conference in collaboration with Urban Environment Design Magazine (China) at which a number of the exhibiting architects presented their work, the only opportunity to see the work outside London.
