Jennifer Architectural Studies BA Honours
This programme, the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) part one professionally accredited programme, is the first step towards qualifying as an architect.
Architecture training is divided into four parts:
All architecture students are required to have 24 months professional experience before final qualification at Part 3 level, of which at least 12 months must be in the UK under the supervision of a UK registered architect.
Overseas students wishing to undertake professional experience in the UK, at either post-Part 1 or Part 2 level, will need to check visa requirements with the UK Border Agency.
The Architectural Studies (BA Honours) will introduce you to the main areas of architecture and develop your design skills. As well as gaining specialist knowledge and skills, you will become resourceful and adaptable; able to switch between different modes of thinking (imaginative, logical, practical); comfortable with different forms of communication (verbal, written, visual) and be able to work as an individual and within a team.
All the professional architecture courses at Newcastle give unconditional exemption from the relevant RIBA examinations, as well as being recognised by the Association of Building Engineers.
