Facilities
The
School of Biology has an outstanding range of facilities to support our research
and teaching, including:
- Fully equiped laboratories
- Two field stations - one located at Close House and another at Moorbank Botanical Gardens, very near to campus
By arrangement other excellent University facilities are available for teaching and research .
They include the two University farms (Cockle Park and Nafferton) managed by the School of Agriculture, Food and Rural Development and the Dove Marine Laboratory managed by the School of Marine Science and Technology. The Dove Marine Laboratory is located just up the coast at Cullercoats and it provides excellent facilities for both teaching and research.
In addition, all our students have access to wider University facilities.
