Industrial Advisory Board

The Industrial Advisory Board (IAB) provides a forum for discussion between the School and a spectrum of locally-based companies and organisations with professional interests across the full breadth of biological science.

The IAB remit includes:

  • Strategic advice to the School on the nature of and changes to the employment landscape for graduate biologists
  • Guidance on curriculum design and development for the School’s BSc and MSc Degree Programmes in light of the employment landscape
  • Assistance with the generation of real-world case studies for use in teaching
  • Development of student placement opportunities
  • Scope for the School to provide continuing professional development (CPD)

Members from outside the School comprise commercial, governmental and non-governmental organisations that employ biology graduates. School representatives include key personnel concerned with the delivery of the BSc and MSc Degree Programmes.
