Three of our current undergraduate students, Harsh Sheth, Younus Essa and Rachel Boyd together with one student who graduated last year and is now studying for a PhD (Alan Koh) are off to Boston, MA to take part in the iGEM competition.
The International Genetically Engineered Machine (iGEM) competition is a worldwide synthetic biology competition aimed at undergraduate university students. Newcastle received a gold medal last year (see http://2009.igem.org/Team:Newcastle)
