Current Position: Graduate Position, Accountancy Firm
The main thing I enjoyed about my course was the final year project. It was really interesting working alongside people studying for PhDs and to have a good amount of time to get stuck into a piece of work. I also really liked the fact we got to choose an optional module in our final year.
I found the careers service to be incredibly helpful in me finding a job. I was given advice on where to apply, help with applications and interview and assessment centre practice. I now have a graduate job lined up working for an accountancy firm in London.
I was also part of the Careers Insights Programme through the careers service. This involved carrying out a group project for Nissan. It was really useful for job applications as it demonstrated a lot of skills that employers look for!
This also gave me the chance to visit local employers, attend a workshop with the RAF, and have a paid trip to London.
I have loved every minute of being in Newcastle and am very sad to leave. The city and the University have so much to offer and take advantage of, so it helps to get stuck in as soon as you arrive – it will make your life here far more enjoyable!
