febrinaNewcastle University's mission of becoming a world-class research intensive university attracted my attention back when I was sitting my A levels in Indonesia. Although in the end I applied to 5 other universities, I knew I was going to Newcastle. Looking back now, I could not have made a better choice. The process of getting into the University was straight forward and along the way I was always well-informed. Newcastle University and the city it self provided good support and resources for me to push my comfort zone as I left home for the first time. I was always productive both academically and socially as well as in the society through various voluntary work and involvement in different committees.  Newcastle University has a lot of valuable opportunities to offer, and I have learnt to always go for it to enjoy all the benefits. Through these experiences I also got to know myself a lot better and developed a passion for Medicine. I owe a great big thank you to the exceptionally clever and helpful Tutors and Lecturers for supporting my application to medical school. In July 2010 I completed my Biomedical Science degree with a first class honours, and I am currently pursuing phase 1 Medicine at Durham University before returning to Newcastle University for phase 2 Medicine. All i can say is, coming to Newcastle was definitely one of the best decisions in my life.
