As an international student in the School of Biomedical Sciences you will be assigned a personal tutor to support you throughout your studies. Dr Chris Baldwin (christopher.baldwin@ncl.ac.uk), our Director of International Studies, also operates an open door policy for all international students looking for advice or just a friendly chat. He will also be happy to answer any questions from prospective students or their parents. The School also has a system of Student Mentors where final year students offer support to new students. The friendly team of staff in the School Office are also happy to help with any questions or problems that might arise during your time in Newcastle.
HOST is a voluntary organisation. Its purpose is to offer international students an opportunity to sample the British way of life. This is achieved through a network of UK residents who welcome international students into their homes for a weekend or over holidays such as Christmas free of charge. HOST provides particularly helpful support for students who are unable to return home over the vacations.
