Eleven biosciences degrees are taught within the School of Biomedical
Sciences, and our programmes are among the best available in the world. This excellence in
teaching was recognized in the last national teaching quality exercise run
by the Quality Assurance Agency (QAA). Our courses were rated 'excellent' gaining
the maximum 24 points. It is also recognised by our students who consistently rate their experience very highly (98% overall satisifcation for Biomedical Sciences in the 2009 National Student Survey).
The courses are designed around a combination of subject-specific and key skills, which means that you will be well-equipped to pursue a range of careers. Students receive individual attention and support from academic tutors.
All our degrees share a common first year and there is sufficient flexibility to allow you to change from one degree to another. If you are not sure which area of biology, biomedical or biomolecular sciences will suit you best our Medical Science (Deferred Choice) route allows you to select your specialism in the second year of study.
