Understanding health through medical research has been a key endeavor throughout history and here at Newcastle our research teams are working hard to investigate the diseases and health issues that impact on all of us.
Much of this work has been made possible through donations from individuals and organisations who share our values of building strong medical research teams and creating opportunities to encourage early stage research. Funds raised by you help us go above and beyond what we can normally do; enabling us to buy the best laboratory equipment, develop new research facilities and provide studentships and fellowships for basic scientists and doctors.
You can find out more about what we do through the stories below.
"Words can"t express the way I feel about the doctors and nurses that helped me and I will be eternally grateful."
"The therapy exercises I normally have to do are dull but necessary but this game is something different which encourages me to keep going with my therapy."
"We believe that there is a chance of giving children like Ryan a brighter future and research conducted at Newcastle gives us the greatest hope."
"I have been inspired by the work carried out in my home town so much so that I decided to set up a scholarship to support early stage researchers working on ageing diseases."
"If it was not for the treatment I received and the link to pioneering lab research, I would not be alive today"
