All major clinical specialties are well represented in Newcastle and elsewhere in the Northern Region, providing high quality healthcare service delivery and training opportunities.
We have a Board of Clinical Specialties which is composed of Academic Directors for these specialties. This maps to Clinical Directorates in the Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and areas of activity in the Northumberland Tyne and Wear Mental Health Trust, Primary Care and Public health. The directors provide academic input to objective setting in the Clinical Directorates promoting Research and Development.
