Introduction

The Dean of Clinical Medicine is responsible for maintaining effective partnerships between the Faculty and NHS agencies around the Northern Region, including Trusts and the Strategic Health Authority. The Dean is also responsible for developing the capabilities of the Faculty to carry out world leading translational medical research and oversees the state of the art clinical research platforms based in the University and in the Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. A further key area is the oversight of Clinical Academic training.
