The Newcastle Biomedicine Clinical Research Platforms bring together Doctors and patient-volunteers.
No new drug or treatment can be provided without patient-volunteers to validate its efficacy. The Clinical Research Facility is an initiative between the University and the Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, dedicated to novel therapies for arthritis, diabetes and other chronic diseases.
It is the first of its kind in the UK to be built as the result of Department of Health and Higher Education Funding Council investment supported by charitable donations.
The Clinical Research Facility puts the patient-volunteers at the centre of cutting edge medical research by providing a well-appointed and tranquil space away from the routine clinical environment that goes some way to acknowledge their essential contribution to new and more effective therapies.
The Newcastle Biomedicine Clincial Research Platforms are listed with our facilities to support research and clinical trials.
