The Barbour Foundation has provided £1M (one million pounds) to support the next generation of scientists to train in areas of research excellence, including ageing, human genetics and neurodegenerative disease.
The Foundation is funding two Barbour Fellows each year, alongside seven PhD studentships and two bursaries per year for medical students wishing to undertake research training as part of their medical degree. Of the seven studentships, six have already been awarded in the following areas:
