Mini Medical School 2012

Mini Medical School logoYoung people and members of the public from across the Region have been exploring the world of medical sciences at Newcastle University.

Over the past six weeks Newcastle University has been hosting the Mini Medical School, a series of lectures designed to bring the world of Medical Science to life.  This event has been held at Newcastle University Medical School for the first time and has attracted approximately 400 people from across the North East.

Those who have attended each week have heard lectures given by prominent Consultants and Academics, giving them an insight into Medicine, Dentistry, Biomedical Sciences and Psychology.

On 3rd November, 130 students took part in practical sessions, including filling teeth, CPR and testing for Diabetes, giving them a taste of what life’s really like if you want to be a Doctor, Dentist or Scientist.
Next year’s Mini Medical School is already in the planning stages, so if you wish to express your interest please email your details to minimedicalschool@ncl.ac.uk.
