Mini Medical School 2013

Dates: 3 October – 7 November 2013 Thursday evenings, 6pm - 8pm
Location: RG Green Lecture Theatre, The Medical School, Newcastle University

The Mini Medical School is a series of exciting and interactive evening lectures designed to bring the world of Medical Science to life.  Whether you are considering pursuing a career in Medicine, Biomedical Sciences, Dentistry or you are just interested in science then this series of lectures is for you.

The event will take place over six consecutive Thursday evenings, with the opportunity to attend a Saturday Practical Session*.  This series of six lectures and practical session are FREE.

This year speakers will cover topics of General Practice, Genetic Medicine, Cancer, Fatigue, Dentistry and Surgery.

How to book

Booking for the event has now closed. Please email enquiries to minimedicalschool@ncl.ac.uk.

The Thursday sessions are open to anyone over the age of 14 years and the Saturday Practical Sessions are for 16 years and over. Once you have received confirmation of your place, if under the age of 18 years you will be sent a consent form to be completed by your parent/carer which must be given to a member of the admin team at the session on 3rd October 2013. Proof of age may be required.

The venue is building No. 60 on the Newcastle University campus map.

*Once you have registered for the Mini Medical School lecture series there will be an opportunity to book a place at one of the Saturday Practical Sessions which will be taking place on Sat 2 November 2013.  Places for these sessions are limited and will be allocated on a first come basis.

Please note: Completion of Mini Medical School will NOT qualify the participant to work in medicine in any capacity or to advise on medical matters and do not count towards entry to the any degree at Newcastle University or other health professional training. At no point will lecturers/course leaders be able to discuss individual medical conditions or case histories with course participants or make diagnoses
