An MRes is intended for students whose main aim is to gain an intensive research experience. The MRes Programmes at Newcastle Biomedicine provide an excellent scientific training for students who wish to progress to a PhD or for students who require a masters-level research qualification.
The MRes programmes are designed to provide an entry into a career in academia or industry that involves a working knowledge of scientific research.
The MRes are 12 months masters programmes that are available ONLY as full time courses. They commence at the end of September and provide training in contemporary medical and molecular biosciences. The programmes contain a specifically tailored taught component, professional and key skills, and a 24-week research project.
These courses are Faculty wide and encompass a variety of internationally competitive research areas predominantly in academia but also in industry.
