This programme bridges the gap between scientists and the business world and focuses on how to turn breakthroughs made in the research laboratory into successful biotechnology companies. Subjects covered include: different business models and their relative advantages; securing funding from venture capitalists and other sources; establishing licensing, contracts and legal ownership; critical aspects of business planning and project management; and what to do if things go wrong. Presentations and workshops are taken by entrepreneurs, academics with business experience and business and legal advisers.
