Programme Structure

The suite of MRes programmes provide a broad-based research training in contemporary biosciences and/or medical sciences techniques.

Each programme comprises 180 credits covering:

  • three advanced subject knowledge modules chosen from over 20 options (some modules may be compulsory)
  • professional/key skills/research techniques in biomedical and biomolecular sciences
  • one 24 week research project.

Details of individual modules and the research project are provided within information about the individual MRes programmes.

The programmes enable you to experience a variety of internationally competitive research areas, predominantly in academia but also potentially in industry.

If you intend to proceed to the PhD or MD, you will be allocated projects that are relevant to your proposed PhD or MD programme.
