FacilitiesThe infrastructure provided through the BRC and BRU will provide support for shared facilities, platforms and technologies that will underpin translational research in ageing and chronic disease. The BRC and BRU will act as a catalyst for multidisciplinary research and training, providing leverage for substantial external funding. Our research will utilise state-of-the-art facilities supported by well-established clinical services.
Key developments supporting our translational research programme include a Clinical Research Facility at the Royal Victoria Infirmary site, the Clinical Ageing Research Unit on the Campus for Ageing and Vitality at the Newcastle General Hospital, adjacent to Magnetic Resonance and Positron Emission Tomography imaging in the Newcastle Imaging Centre.
