Genomics

The Genomics theme focuses on understanding the role of genetics and epigenetics in the pathogenesis of chronic disease and the ageing process.  The primary aim of the theme is to use state of the art genomic platforms to identify genomic risk factors for disease development, which will facilitate diagnosis enable the stratification of patients for personalised treatments. It is also anticipated that through the interaction with the main BRC disease areas this work will identify new targets for the development of new treatments.

The genomics theme is cross-cutting, engaging patient cohorts, biomarkers, and imaging studies, and revealing common chronic disease mechanisms linking pathologies in different organs as we grow older.
