Research Fellowship Programme
What we can offer:
- A salaried position – for up to 4 years to enable you to develop and submit a quality Fellowship application. This is offered on a biannual basis through a competitive recruitment process. If successful, you will be appointed as a Newcastle fellow within one of our research Institutes.
- Space – within an Institute to support your area of research. This may be laboratory space and/or office space and is negotiated with the relevant Institute Director.
- Resources - to help gather preliminary data in support of your fellowship application.
- Access to a range of locally based advice and scientific facilities continually updated and maintained at a high standard.
- Guidance - through the application process from initial concept to submission. This will cover suitable funding sources, costing the proposal, peer review of your application and interview support.
- Advice - on crafting your application from experienced researchers familiar with your field. An experienced academic will lead in providing advice on your application writing and responses to peer review. This will ensure that you submit a high quality application and have the best chance of success.
- Mentorship – through your appointment as a Newcastle fellow to provide independent career progression advice. This will continue through the period of the Fellowship that you win.
- Career Development – will be available to you. There is a suite of researcher training opportunities from which you can build a suitable career development programme.
We welcome contact from people interested in bringing a new fellowship to Newcastle. Once you have joined us, we will provide space, access to scientific facilities, career development opportunities and mentorship through to the next stage of your career. Guidance and advice on further Fellowship or alternative research funding will be provided at the later stages of your Fellowship period.
