My interests relate to the modifiable risk factors for cardiovascular disease in diabetes and endocrine disorders.
After being awarded PhD at London University on the subject of "Central and peripheral neuroendocrine function in obesity and molecular approach to insulin resistance " I commenced my specialist training at The Royal London Hospital and later at Royal Victoria Infirmary and Freeman Road Hospital, Newcastle. As part of Institute of Cellular Medicine I am actively involved in Adult Stem Cells research examining the role of endothelial progenitor cell biology in postnatal vasculogenesis in diabetes and endocrine disorders applying both preclinical and clinical approach.
